About Me

I was born and raised in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, and have been playing music since I was 5 years old! I started learning the piano, inspired by both my mum and sister, before deciding I wanted to play something jazzy – the only instrument I could learn at the age of 8 was the clarinet. Once I reached secondary school, I swapped to playing saxophone, and haven’t looked back since. It was my primary instrument throughout my two university degrees at the University of Manchester, where I also taught myself to play the flute. If you’re keeping track that’s 4 instruments!

After completing my Master’s degree in Music, I decided to take on a new challenge, and took a Postgraduate diploma in Musical Theatre and Acting. I am now an accomplished actor-musician-singer, and have been a professional performer since 2021. Since then I have completed four professional contracts, with roles varying from Santa Clause (ask for pictures!) to a variety show host touring the world. I have auditioned and gone multiple rounds deep into West End musical auditions, so still waiting for the stars to align in my favour! During this time, I have also been teaching a lot of music. I worked for multiple institutions while completing my degrees in Manchester, including Staves Professional Music Tuition, the highly regarded Cheadle Hulme Music School, and the Rochdale Music Service. I also began teaching privately after my postgraduate diploma down in the Watford area. With these experiences combined, I have taught in many different settings and combinations: individual lessons, group lessons, zoom lessons, online video lessons – you name it, I’ve probably done it!

I believe learning to sing or play an instrument should always be fun. It is incredibly important to me as a teacher that I connect well with my students, and ensure they are always learning, being challenged but still enjoying their time in lessons, and ideally when practicing too!
